Hi! I'm Emily, your crafty go to girl. I love all things crafty! I enjoy sewing, scrapbooking, photography, card making, DIY projects, home decor, photo projects, personalized gifts, stamping, jewelry making and just about anything that involves creativity. I run a small Etsy shop called paperpixie crafts. I also have my products in several local shops. I am slowly but surely extending my line of products. My goal is to start filling up my Etsy shop and then eventually open a local boutique. Luckily, I have a wonderful husband who can tolerate my craft obsession, and a great family who is always supportive of my goals. This blog is a sneak peek in to my life and my creative thoughts. I'll be sure to keep you posted with all the cool stuff I see along my crafty journey. Thanks for reading!

Patriot Fan?

Have you noticed that I've been posting several Patriots things lately? Yes, I'm a Georgia Gal born and raised. Explanation for Pats's gear?
I have an Etsy client that is a true blue Patriots fan that I have been working with on holidays. Each holiday I create a cool surprise basket for her that includes all Pat's themed items.

The most recent basket inspired me to learn quilted appliqué techniques. I created this cute little Pat's Tee and I'm rather proud of the outcome. I hope that her little fella enjoys it. Have you ever tried quilted appliqué?
 Do you use quilt batting?
*The back of the shirt is appliquéd with heat bond.
If you are interested in purchasing a surprise themed basket for yourself or as a gift, please feel free to contact me. I always enjoy these types of project. I am also excepting custom orders for appliquéd tees. The possibilities are endless on these... Let me know if there is something that I can create for you. ( =

Freezer paper shirts!

If you haven't ever tried freezer paper stencils... your missing out! I've seen several tutorials for these and have always wanted to try one. With so many craft events just around the corner I wanted to get in some practice with freezer paper so that I could make some for our shows.
I made an awesome guitar shirt for my hubby, a cool camera shirt for Wendy from Filmphatale, and of course a Paper Pixie Crafts shirt for me to wear while I'm manning my booth. ( =
I'm pretty proud of all of them but I think the orange camera is my favorite. Some how I missed the final photo of the guitar but I'll be sure to snap a shot next time the hubby wears it.
If you are looking for instructions on how to make your own... Check out my crafty friend Meg's Blog Bug Creator. She has a photo heavy tute there that is sure to get you through your first shirt. ( =
Heres how mine turned out:

Saving little Baxter

I know I know.. It's been FOREVER. SO... let me catch you up.
* I have several post coming your way to fill you in on all the cool stuff that I've been up to.*

Little Baxter. Isn't he Cute?
A few weeks ago I had the amazing opportunity to help rescue an adorable little puppy. My neighbor sheltered a battered puppy and I was able to pair him with a new home. Baxter the terrier puppy went to live with my friend Wendy and her family. I am pleased to say that Baxter is doing well in his new home and LOVEs having 2 little boys to run and play with.
I have such a BIG heart for animals. I want to take in every stray and pound puppy I see, and while that can't always happen... I am happy to have been able to help out little Baxter!
If you are interested in adopting a shelter puppy of your own... check with you local humane educational society. If you are local to Chattanooga, Click here to see what animals are available currently. We are lucky to live in an area where most people LOVE their pets dearly and there are so many great programs like Wally's friends to help care for pets.

spontaneous Mini Vacation & Sum Nelly review

Thats right..
I'm headed to the beach for a much needed mini vacation. Myrtle Beach is always a fun getaway.
I be back before the weekend because I was invited to another Craft event on Saturday. I don't have all the details yet- but a lady at Sum Nelly invited Meg and I to set up at their church event. Speaking of Sum Nelly... It was Great! I did fairly well considering it was my first year setting up there. I learned a lot about the event and met some pretty cool crafters. I have more photos coming soon... I promise to get my bloggy up to date when I get home from the beach, but until then... Here's are some picts of how my booth looked at Sum Nelly....
